One of my pastimes is recording family history. I think I have finally found a way to share all of my information with the family and world here on my website. To explore follow this link.

Here are some tips to make your exploration more rewarding.

When you enter the site, notice the search feature and pull down menus in the upper right.

View of the upper right of the home page.

You can begin searching for an individual in the system. NOTE: you will not find living individuals in the system as those are hidden for privacy.

The pull down menus let you explore contents like media, photos, documents, and such. At the bottom of the home page is a word cloud with many of the surnames in the data. You can begin exploring the people by selecting a name.

When you select an individual you enter that individual’s record, like below.

Part of the individual’s data page.

Here you will see the facts of the individual’s life, dates, places, etc. and any events or other information. The tabs next to the individual tab allow you to view different kinds of information, like the family tab will show you a graphic representation of the family. Just use your browser’s back arrow to return to the individual page.

The ancestors tab shows any information on the individuals ancestors. You can select new individuals to move around.

You can use the relationship calculator to find relationships between this individual and anyone in the system.

The relationship calculator dialog area.

And the result is shown in a graphical way with a description at the bottom.

Poke around and if you have any comments contact me at gregliggett at gmail.com. Also contact me if you would like to become a contributor to the data. Many research hands make lighter work!
